UEFA Super Cup 9/8/2017

After decimating my bankroll last week with terrible money management and horrible picks in the J League and CSL, I managed to claw back a little by punting on my beloved Real Madrid in the Super Cup.

I initially bet $25 on Real Madrid (-0.5) @ 0.97, but then decided to add on another $25 later when the odds for a win improved to 2.06

Thanks to a masterful performance from Los Blancos, they trotted out comfortable 2-1 winners over Manchester United to seal the cup, and some money for me!

All in all, I was up $50.75 on this match.

Of course, I will only count this as 1 bet in my win rate percentage.

Correct Prediction Count (since blog inception) : (26/55) / 47.3%

Profit/Loss (since blog inception) : -$287.23

After that, I took the $50 I won, and placed it on Over 2.75 Goals @ -0.97 in the match between Vissel Kobe and Kashima Antlers. Hopefully my winning run will continue so I can place $100 on the next game to slowly but surely claw back my bankroll to what it was.

If I manage to win some money on this game, I will probably take a look at the matches being played in the CSL and place a punt if I see an opportunity.

If not, I’ll save up for the weekend, and the beginning of the BPL!

Will update my results in a later post.

Fingers crossed!

J League & CSL 30/7/2017

After yesterday’s fine run of form, it’s time to crash back to Earth with a terrible Sunday of J-League and CSL action.

So this is what I ended up betting on, with the results on the right

  • $83 on Over 2.75 goals on the Vegalta vs Kashiwa game (1-1) – sold action early to LOSE $61.70
  • $74 on FC Tokyo (-0.75) vs Albirex Niigata (1-1) – LOSE $74
  • $68 on Changchun Yatai (+1.25) (Liaoning 1-0 Changchun) – WIN $31.96

All in all, I’m down $103.74 on the day. What a shitty way to end the week.

European season just can’t start soon enough!

CSL Changchun Yatai vs Guangzhou R&F

After yesterday’s annoying loss on the Over bet, I’ve decided to come out swinging today to claw back on what I lost yesterday.

I’ve gone for a $61 bet on a Changchun win @ 2.15 in the Changchun Yatai vs Guangzhou R&F match.

Screen Shot 2017-07-16 at 2.41.23 PM.png

I decided to go for a Changchun victory for a few reasons:

  • They’re the team in form, while Guangzhou has lost their last 2 matches
  • Changchun is at home
  • Payout of 2.15 is pretty decent

I was also considering punting on over 2.75 goals, but the payout of 0.78 was quite poor. Hence, I’ve gone for the high risk, high reward option of a Changchun win!

Depending on how that match goes, I could also place a punt on the later game between Tianjian Quanjian vs Shanghai Shenhua.

As of now, I’m eyeing Over 2.75 goals @ 0.78 as I believe that bet represents my best chance of winning money with the best payout on offer.

Both teams have shown the ability to score AND concede, which should mean it’ll be raining goals in Tianjin.

Fingers crossed and good luck to me.

CSL Tianjin Quanjin vs Guangzhou Evergrande UPDATE

After my lucky escape with Jeff Horn’s unexpected victory this morning, it rained goals in the Tianjin v Guangzhou match to finish 4 – 3 in favour of Tianjin

With my bet of $52 on Over 2.75 goals @ 0.93, I’m up $48.36 on the night, and fingers crossed this will be the beginning of a nice little winning streak.

The next question then, should I quit while I’m ahead today, or place a wager on the Confederations Cup final?

Considering Germany hasn’t kept a clean sheet OR drawn a blank the whole tournament, it’s quite tempting to place a wager on Over 2.25 goals @ 0.82.

It’s also tempting to bet on Chile to win @ 2.87. Decisions decisions.

On the flip side, previous meetings between the pair haven’t yielded much goals, including a 1-1 draw in the group stage. Would it be a more cagey affair considering it’s the final?

Nothing is worse than betting on over 2.25 goals and the score ending 1-1 with both teams content to play Extra Time.

If I do decide to go ahead with placing a bet on this game, there will be a post with an update tomorrow.

Manny Pacquiao vs Jeff Horn

After waking up past noon and forgetting about the fight, I picked up the action midway through the 6th where Horn was having the upper hand over Pacquiao.

I decided to quickly lock in a small bet of $20 on Horn @ 1.00 after the 6th round, which looked to be a bad decision after Manny absolutely pummeled Horn in the 9th which lead to the umpire almost stopping the fight.

Thankfully, the hometown judges came through with a unanimous decision for Horn to be the new WBO Welterweight champion!

Gotta say that I got lucky this time (check out the final punch statistics below)

That’s a good way to wake up though – small profit of $20 this morning.

J League Albirex Niigata vs Jubilo Iwata UPDATE

All good things come to an end, some sooner rather than later.

In this case, I couldn’t even get back to back wins before the bookie gods decided to taunt me.

The final score was Niigata 0 – 2 Jubilo, which meant that I lost half my bet, but it could have been so much more.

When Jubilo took a 2-0 lead with almost 30 minutes to go, I thought the 3rd goal was a formality.

Guess I should have just bet on a Jubilo win instead.

Down $33 on the night.

Confederations Cup Russia vs Portugal UPDATE

Just went I thought I was on the cusp of starting a winning run, Igor Akinfeev decides to have a wonderful game and stop the Portuguese attack single-handedly.

After an early Ronaldo goal, I thought it would be money in the bank, but nothing would go in after that.

$38 on Over 2.5 goals – LOSE

Thanks to the drab game, I’m down $34.58 on the night, and wiped out all I won on the Germany game yesterday.
