After my lucky escape with Jeff Horn’s unexpected victory this morning, it rained goals in the Tianjin v Guangzhou match to finish 4 – 3 in favour of Tianjin
With my bet of $52 on Over 2.75 goals @ 0.93, I’m up $48.36 on the night, and fingers crossed this will be the beginning of a nice little winning streak.
The next question then, should I quit while I’m ahead today, or place a wager on the Confederations Cup final?
Considering Germany hasn’t kept a clean sheet OR drawn a blank the whole tournament, it’s quite tempting to place a wager on Over 2.25 goals @ 0.82.
It’s also tempting to bet on Chile to win @ 2.87. Decisions decisions.
On the flip side, previous meetings between the pair haven’t yielded much goals, including a 1-1 draw in the group stage. Would it be a more cagey affair considering it’s the final?
Nothing is worse than betting on over 2.25 goals and the score ending 1-1 with both teams content to play Extra Time.
If I do decide to go ahead with placing a bet on this game, there will be a post with an update tomorrow.

Phew, finally a W for The Asian Handicapper after a string of losses.
Two early goals from Leon Goretzka set Germany on their way to a 4-1 win over Mexico, which meant that I was up $47.94 on the night after I bet $51 on Over 2.5 goals @ 0.94.
Here’s to hoping that I can put together a mini win streak to get my balance to healthier levels again. Bring on the J League!

And so the bad run continues.
After Portugal vs Chile finished 0-0 at the end of 90 minutes and extra time, it’s another crushing blow to my bank balance.
I’m down a further $128 on the night, and the European season can’t start soon enough.
I’ve decided to scale back on my bets and try to claw back slowly by betting $51 on Over 2.5 goals on the Germany vs Mexico game tonight.
Both teams have the ability to score goals, but this could end up biting me in the ass again as that was the exact same reasoning behind my bet on the Portugal game yesterday.

There’s only one game tonight in the Confederations Cup, and I’ve decided to bet $128 on Over 2.25 @ 0.97.
It’s been a stinker of a tournament for me so far with only 1 win that I can remember, so I’ve decided to roll the dice by placing a larger bet on the Portugal vs Chile game as I believe it represents good odds before the line moves to Over 2.5 goals.
Really hope I’ve got it right and the bookies got it wrong!
Fingers crossed and good luck to me!
And so the losing streak continues.
After Chile v Australia finished 1-1, it’s clear I should have bet on Over 3 on the Germany game instead, as that finished 3-1, though you wouldn’t have known at half time.
So it’s down $70 on the night, and I’m desperate to find a light at the end of this tunnel.
Maybe I should try to take a break from this until the European season starts, but somehow I doubt my self discipline will enable that.

With the last round of group games to decide group B to be played tonight, I was left to decide on whether to have a punt on the Germany v Cameroon game or the Chile v Australia game.
Earlier today, both games had an over line of 3 goals, but as you can see below, the Over line moved to 3.25 goals for the Chile game.
This was a bit of a bummer as I was planning on betting on over 3 for this game.
In the end, I decided to stick to my original prediction, but now to bet on $70 on Over 3.25 goals @ 0.92 on Chile vs Australia as I figured that Cameroon might not be able to score against Germany, which would make it tough to get over the 3 goal line.
Australia have only drawn a blank once in their last 18 games or so, while Chile have the firepower to score goals.
Added to the fact that Australia needs to have a winning margin of 2 goals to advance, I’m hoping that they’ll throw the kitchen sink at Chile’s defence, which will mean an end to end game filled with goals.
My prediction : Chile 3 – 1 Australia
Fingers crossed and good luck to me!
Last night, I decided to bet slightly bigger on both games. These are the results:
- $65 on Over 2.75 goals @ 0.93 – Germany 1 vs 1 Chile – LOSE $65
- $67 on Under 2.75 goals @ 0.84 – Cameroon 1 vs 1 Australia – WIN $56.28
The night started well with Cameroon and Australia playing out a 1-1 draw. It got squeaky when Australia equalized with 30 minutes left, but my remedy for that is to turn off the TV and hope for the best.
Thankfully, the score stayed that way and I started the night with a winner!
After that, I checked the score at half time of the Germany game, and it was 1-1 too. Feeling good, I went to bed thinking both these teams definitely have at least 1 goal in them, and I can be 2 for 2 and book a big profit tonight.
Waking up this morning and seeing that the game ended 1-1 too really sucked. HOW DID NO ONE SCORE IN THE SECOND HALF?
Overall I am down $8.72 on the night due to the lower payout on the Australia game, but it could have been so much better.
I really should be practicing better money management, and only betting on 1 game a day until the European club season starts.
