BPL GW 37 & Serie A GW 36

Putting last night’s loss behind me, I set out to look for good odds on this fine Saturday afternoon,

Looking at the BPL, I’ve got to say that most of the matches aren’t that appealing.

After last night’s Everton game costing me dearly, the effect of 2 teams playing each other with nothing at stake cannot be understated.

So, the only teams playing tonight with something at stake are Manchester City, Swansea, and Arsenal.

  1. Man City look certain to beat Leicester, but the 2 goal handicap concerns me. Can they win by 3 clear goals? Also, the Over/Under 3.5 line seems a little risky to bet on
  2. Swansea will be fighting for survival, knowing a win could all but guarantee safety. However, they are away, and Sunderland seem to play better after getting relegated. A handicap of 0.5 seems like a good opportunity if you’re inclined
  3. Arsenal have a terrible away record to Stoke, but will be fighting hard for their traditional 4th spot. I’m not too confident about the 0.75 handicap, but maybe a flutter on under 3 might be more profitable.

All in all, I don’t think I’ll be putting money on any of tonight’s BPL games, but if that changes, I’ll be sure to post it up!

So on we go then to Serie A, and the one match I’ve really got my eye on tonight is Fiorentina v Lazio.

Both these teams don’t have much to play for, with Lazio having to win to maintain a very slim chance of making the final Champions League spot. Fiorentina are comfortably in mid-table, and are probably in a holiday mood already.

However, a quick peek at the last 5 meetings between the two teams indicate a high possibility of goals. Coupled with the last 5 matches these 2 teams have played, which have also included high scoring matches like Fiorentina 5 – 4 Inter, and Lazio 7 – 3 Sampdoria.

As such, I’ve put all my weekly eggs in an Italian basket this weekend and wagered $85 on Over 3.25 @ 0.82. Fingers crossed and good luck to us!
